Prose poetry/’stylized’ prose wanted for online magazine
Decided this would just about fit the scope of this blog! I’ve copied and pasted from the website: ‘Lackington’s is an online magazine that publishes speculative fiction and art four times a year. We want to help widen the space for prose poetry. We’re looking for stylized prose. Not inept purple prose, of course, but controlled and well-crafted wordsmithery that reflects the story, setting, theme, atmosphere, or philosophy it seeks to describe.’
The magazine describes itself as ‘speculative’, which tends to mean veering towards sci-fi, steampunk, and the like. They do seem, quite clearly, to be asking for prose – but beautifully written, poetic prose, so I think there’s scope for us poets 😉 More information, including current theme/s, here: http://lackingtons.com/submissions-2/ Payment is 1 Canadian Cent per word, $25 CAD minimum.
Canadian Journal ‘Room’ for Women Writers

Upcoming is an open submissions call, with a deadline of 31st October 2014, for the summer 2015 issue, and work on the theme of ‘trespass’ for the autumn 2015 issue, which has a deadline of 31st January 2015. Use their submittable link to submit. Full information on their website: http://www.roommagazine.com/submit
