Submission guidelines
What we are looking for: Poetry / Prose / Short Stories / B&W art / Photography that embraces surrealism & the beauty of language.
It is that simple. It is that complicated.
What we are not looking for: parodies of surrealism and the intentionally comic.

For further ideas of the work we publish consider reading an issue of Fur-Lined Ghettos – our poetry magazine.
Submissions should be sent as an .rtf or .doc file, along with a bio and brief covering letter to editorsalopress@gmail.com

Please include ‘STARFISH’ in the subject header.
For poetry submissions please send no less than five pieces.
For prose / short stories max. 6000 words.
For art / photography we would prefer to view online where possible, otherwise query.
We will consider previously published work but please state where & when published.

We aim to respond within four months.
Payment: As a fledgling press, current payment is one print copy of the anthology.

Handwritten ‘Letters’ Sought

The Letters Page is a journal published by Nottingham University’s English Department (in the UK). Copied from the website:

‘We want your letters for Issue 6, and we want them soon. We want stories, essays, poems, memoir, travelogue, reportage, conversation, criticism, speculation, illustration, deviation, and more. If you can fit it in an envelope and put it in the post to us at the address below, we will consider it for publication. There is no theme; there are no restrictions. Be smart about it: we are a correspondence-based literary journal with a limited number of pages, and in general shortness and smallness is a virtue. But we are looking for works of literary wonder, and we have no wish to inhibit you. Surprise us.’

Check out their page for more info: http://www.theletterspage.ac.uk/letterspage/submissions.aspx

We will pay £100 for every submission published.
Closing Date for Issue 6 is April 22, 2015.
Send your submissions to:

The Letters Page,
School of English, University of Nottingham, NG7 2RD, UK.
