Political Poems for Holland Park Press
You have until 31 August 2016 to enter this writing competition, entitled ‘Poetry & Politics’. It’s free to enter, and the winner will receive £200. Poems by the winner and runners-up will be published in the Holland Park Press online magazine. One poem per entrant. Your poem must be original (hope that would go without saying!), unpublished, and up to 50 lines in length. Award for African Poets living anywhere in the world
Run by the Babishai Niwe Poetry Foundation, this award is open to all African poets, living anywhere in the world, provided they will not have published (including self-publishing) a full-length collection by May 2015. The first prize winner will receive USD1,000, and the top ten will receive mentorship and publication. Deadline is May 15th 2015, 11.59pm Ugandan time.
