Better Than Starbucks
This fabulously-named quarterly publication accepts a wide range of genres, including: African Poetry, Poetry in Translation, Experimental and Form Poetry, Prose Poetry, Poetry for Children, Free Verse, Haiku, and International (which they define as: “being written by non-Westerners whose cradle tongue is not American or British English, and who have lived somewhere other than the US, Canada, the UK or Australia for most of their lives”). The editors are currently accepting submissions for the next issue, due out 1 February 2021. They stress that all submissions (except manuscripts) should be pasted into the body of an email – if submitting in more than one genre, send in separate emails. Submission details here. It’s worth purchasing a copy and/or checking out some of the work on the website.
Ninth Letter
Published twice-yearly as a print journal by the University of Illinois, Ninth Letter is accepting poetry submissions until 28 February 2020. (It looks like there may be an annual submissions window of 1 Sept to 28 Feb.) Read full guidelines.
