Competition run by the Black Country Living Museum (the Black Country is an area in the West Midlands, UK), this free-to-enter competition this year commemorates the anniversary of the start of WWI with the theme of ‘conflict and contemplation’. First prize is £100, plus a family ticket to the Museum. Only one poem per poet. Closing date is soon – 26th September. It does have age limits for some of the pitches – if, like me, you’re rather older than 25, do keep an eye on the age specifications in the rules for each pitch/comp/opportunity/etc.
I’m only listing free-to-enter competitions as, if you are just starting out, you can otherwise spend a fortune. If you have anything poetry-related to share, please get in touch via email: firstname.lastname@example.org – thank you!
