New issues are published in June and December. Writers are invited to submit work in more than one genre, but please limit the number of submissions in any given genre to one submission per reading period.” Submit up to five poems in a single document. Shenandoah

A web magazine that publishes biannually, Shenandoah‘s editor is supported by students at Washington and Lee University’s English Department. From the website: “We will accept POETRY submissions from November 15 to December 15. We will also accept submissions in the same window for the GRAYBEAL-GOWEN PRIZE FOR VIRGINIA POETS, which was established to honor the memory of Washington and Lee graduate and lover of poetry, Howerton Gowen. Poets living in or born in Virginia, as well as those with long-term residency in the past, are eligible.” The editors stop accepting submissions once they receive 800, so submit sooner, rather than later. interpretations and reflections upon the theme.

Share your stories, ideas and perspectives with us.”

POETRY: up to 3 poems of no longer than 30 lines each.
FICTION: stories may be up to 2,000 words.
NON-FICTION: articles/essays may be up to 1,500 words.
ARTWORK: all visual forms (300 dpi and 640 x 640 resolution)

Scottish-international publisher

Scottish-and-Swedish-based indie publisher Word-o-Mat seeks international submissions for edition number three of its quarterly print zines, that fit into a box the size of a cigarette packet! Submissions are especially encouraged from “female and non-binary writers”. Previously published work is considered, as long as you state where it was published, and that you retain copyright.
